CME Requirements: Credits shall be earned from an organization accredited by the ACCME, AOA, AAFP or a state medical society recognized by the ACCME or from material used for point of care.
Content Specific Requirements: The following content-specific CME must be completed: 2 credits in end-of-life issues, as a one-time requirement; 3 credits in opioid education and pain management if the physician prescribes controlled substances; 10 credits in risk management, which may be Category 1 or 2; 2 credits for studying each chapter of the Board’s regulations and these credits may applied to the risk management requirement; 3 credits in electronic health records as required under state law; the child abuse and neglect training required under state law; and the domestic violence and sexual violence training required under state law.
Beginning June 1, 2022, BORIM will require that licensees renewing physician licensure complete a continuing medical education requirement of 2.00 credits on the topic of implicit bias in healthcare.
