CME Requirements: 40 must be Category 1
Content Specific Requirements: Fifty percent (50%) must be earned in areas related to the licensee’s specialty, subspecialty, or certification in question. Two (2) hours must be earned on treatment of dengue, chikungunya, and Zika virus; one (1) hour on diabetes; one (1) hour on vaccination; one (1) hour on obesity prevention; one (1) hour on cardiovascular health; three (3) hours on pain management; three (3) hours on antibiotics; and four (4) hours on bioethics and professionalism. The remaining 44 hours may be earned in any topic. Physicians who work with individuals with autism must earn fifteen (15) CME hours related to autism and all pediatricians must complete six (6) hours of CME related to the condition. For physicians providing direct or indirect hospital emergency room services, 20 hours must address emergency medicine, including courses in life support (CPR, ACLS, and PALS), emergency management, and the study of emergency medicine.
